The denial followed a Gay and Lesbianb Chamber press release that said Flanniga nhad “resigned his position to pursue other interests and to focusw on , his Web design and hosting, and e-commerce business.” Flannigahn fired back today in a press release of his own, saying he was callec to an emergency board meeting on June 8 wherse board members presented him with a lettert of resignation. Flannigan said he refused to sign it, at whichb time the chamber’s board members forced his removal bya two-thirds vote. Officals from the Gay and LesbiaChamber couldn’t be reached for comment.
“While I disagreed with the actions this new boarx has taken and their reasonsz for doing so are still uncleatto me, I continue to feel that a chambe of commerce has a critical role to play in the communitu and the fight for equality,” Flannigan “It would be a shame if their actions have a negativ e impact on all that we’vee accomplished in the past two and a half and it’s my wish that the community find a way to move forware in a positive fashion.
