Workers at two MillerCoors plants ratify new deals - The Business Journal of Milwaukee:

and Fort Worth, Texas, have ratified new, three-yeae contracts. The agreements cover more than 900 employees at the two breweriesw and provide wage and pension increases over the courser ofthe contracts. “Our members overwhelmingly ratifiede these contracts at MillerCoors because they providr stability fortheir families,” said Jack Cipriani, director of the Teamsters Breweru and Soft Drink Workers Conference, whichh represents workers at the breweries. “Fo the next three years, our memberxs at MillerCoors know that their wages and pension benefits will increase, which is sayinhg a lot in today’s economy.
” The contracts call for no healtgh care cost increases for workers in the firsr year of the contract and only minor increases for the second and third years, according to the The new deal also guarantees that employees who have retired or who will retire during the course of the three-yeat contracts won’t be required to pay healty care premiums. “We value all generations of our so we made sure that ther were improvements for both active members at MillerCoors and the retiree who had paved the way before with their long yearsdof service,” Cipriani said. The Teamsters uniomn represents 1,200 MillerCoors workers nationwide.
The union also representws workers at the MillerCooras breweryin Irwindale, Calif. Negotiations for a new contracf covering employees at the plant areunder way. MillerCoors is a joint venture between MilledrBrewing Co., Milwaukee, and Coors Brewing Co., Colo., that launched in July 2008. MillerCoors operate s a major brewery and regionao officeon Milwaukee’s west side. Workers at the Milwaukee brewery are represente d by Brewery Workers Local 9 of the Uniteds AutoWorkers union.
